Analysis

The topic of this lesson is trip. The topic is familiar and closed to students’ daily life,so it’s quite easy and interested for students to learn. “Let’s talk” is the second period of this unit. Its content is not that difficult for past tense beginners. But teacher intends to reorganize the learning material and improve students’ listening, talking and writing skills.

Learners Analysis

Students are from Grade Six in Fuxi Primary School. They study English at least 3 years and have some skills in English.They are active,curious and interested in English. And they have mastered basic rules of past tense and some regular or irregular past forms. But it takes time to help students to use past tense correctly in the daily talk. Going on a trip is one of their favorite topics. So this lesson is aimed at arousing students’ interest and teaching them how to describe one’s trip. Teacher will offer students lots of opportunities to talk and share with others.

Objectives

1、Language knowledge:

1) Students can understand the new words,like beach,sometime.

2) Students can master the sentence patterns“ Where did you?...We went to…/What did you.... ”

2、Language skill:

1)Students understand the dialogue, read it and act it out.

2)Students have a daily talk with friends using “wh-” words.

3、Learning Strategies:

1)Students can describe one’s trip using the mind-map they learned.

2)Students can train their listening and speaking ability.

4、Emotional skill:

1) Students can develop their consciousness of proper competition and good co-operation.

2) Students can know what they shouldn’t do when they go travelling.
