一、创设情境,切入主题

Step 1 Lead-in

Lead in by asking some questions:

1. What’s the date today?

2. Where is your birthday?

二、展开过程,探究新知

Step 2 Teaching new words

Let the students watch a video and find out some new words about this lesson.

Step 3 Listening

Listen to the tape and know about the main points of the dialogue, and then answer the two questions:

1. Where does this dialogue take place?

2. Why does Brian try on the dress for Li Ming?

Step4 Reading

Read the dialogue and write true (T) or false (F).

1. Jenny is looking for a birthday present for Li Ming. ( )

2. Jenny thinks about the size, color and style when she buys the present. ( )

3. Brian is the same size as Li Ming. ( )

4. Li Ming’s favorite color is bright green. ( )

5. Jenny doesn’t find a present for Li Ming in the end. ( )

Step 4 Practice

Let the students read the text again in groups, then act out the dialogue.

Work in groups to finish the task. After a while, let some groups present their dialogues in front of the class.

Step 5 Come to “Let’s Do It!”

Read the dialogue again and ask the students to finish “Let’s do it” Part 4,then make up a dialogue in each group. At last, act it out.
