Step I Warm-up
Sing a song (Old MacDonald Had a Farm)
Students do the gestures when they are singing a song.
Reviewing (Play a guessing game)
All of the students look at the part of the animal’s body and guess what animal it is?
(设计意图：在轻松的音乐声中步入课堂，激发学生的学习兴趣，老师向学生展示动物卡片，采用猜单词游戏的形式既复习了已学词汇，又为学习新内容做好了铺垫。)
Step Ⅱ Leading-in
The teacher introduces the bananas to the students and at the same time speak the sentences: I want to eat bananas, what do you eat? Ok, Let’s learn and introduce the titles “Lesson 11 What do they eat?”
(设计意图： 通过展示已学动物的身体部位让学生猜这个动物是什么，通过了解“吃“这个单词，过渡到动物们吃什么，自然引出课题。)
Step Ⅲ Presentation
New words and sentences
老师应用单词卡片、实物、视频动图，多媒体课件等多种形式引出本课新词汇和重点句型。
The teacher asks some questions like: What are they? What color are they? What do they eat? What other food do they eat?
(Practice: passing game. Choose some students to read these sentences and others follow her and repeat the sentence one by one.) After show them the sentences, let students to match the cards one by one.
第一组教师借助课件图片，出示香蕉实物，让学生熟悉Monkeys eat bananas. 第二组教师通过呈现老虎吃肉的视频动画，让孩子熟悉meat这个单词，并学会Tigers eat meat. 第三组Cats eat fish 的句子，以填空的方式呈现给同学们。第四组Cows eat grass的句子，老师写好范文，并以小短文的形式呈现给同学们，在ppt上呈现本单元所学的相关句型“They are cows. One is gray. One is white. They eat grass. 孩子们小组讨论完成小短文，各组派组长做代表发言。
（设计意图：句子的呈现由浅到深，体现层次性，让孩子们在句型操练中找到自信。让英语不局限于单词，句子。同学们不仅仅只落实在说的一方面，也开始练习书写。）
