教学过程

Step 1. Lead-in

教师让学生看一则新闻“说话结尾用升调?真不利加薪找工作”,然后让学生发表观点。What do you want to say about the news?

教师总结并引出语调。英语有两种基本的语调: 升调和降调。

Step 2. Presentation

播放第一组句子的录音,指导学生跟着录音模仿朗读。Listen to the recording and pay attention to the end of the statements. Then read them out loud.

2. 让学生自由朗读,在朗读过程中体会陈述句的语调。总结:When we speak, we drop our tone at the end of statement.

3. 播放第二组句子的录音,指导学生跟录音一句句地模仿朗读:Listen to the recording and pay attention to the end of the questions. Then read them out loud.

4. 让学生自由朗读,在朗读过程中体会一般疑问句的语调。总结:When we ask a yes/no question , our tone rise at the end of the question.

5. 播放第三组句子的录音,指导学生跟录音模仿朗读:Listen to the recording and pay attention to the end of the sentences. Then read them out loud.

6. 让学生两人一组朗读练习,注意使用正确的语调。总结: When we ask a wh-question, our tone usually falls at the end of the question.

7. 播放第四组句子的录音,指导学生跟录音模仿朗读:Listen to the recording and pay attention to the end of the sentences. Then read them out loud.

8. 接着让全班学生齐声朗读句子,让学生在朗读过程中体会这些句子的语调,教师总结:We usually make our tone fall at the end of a statement. However , we make our tone rise at the end of a sentence to show surprise.

Step 3. Presentation

Discussion:

Read the conversation in pairs and discuss the sentences :

Which tone should we use, rising or falling?

Pay attention to your intonation.

Read the conversation on page 51, put a falling arrow or a rising arrow when you think the person’s tone should fall or rise .

播放B部分对话录音,指导学生跟录音模仿朗读: Listen to the tape and pay attention to the sentences. Then read them out loud. Make your tone rise when needed.

接着请几组学生分角色在全班大声朗读对话,教师要注意及时纠正和表扬:Now, please read the dialogue in pairs. Pay attention to your intonation.

女生和男生分角色朗读,注意语调,教师及时纠正不正确的语调。

让学生告诉老师一些令人惊讶的事情, 教师表示惊讶,在交流时教师注意使用正确的语调,让学生体会正确的语调有利于更好地进行交流。
