Step2 Presentation

1.Tell the Ss that our world is full of amazing things and share some other amazing things.

2.Focus on some new words and emphasize on some of them.

The fish is about 100 times(倍数)larger than the usual fish.

The biggest apple is 8 (heavy)the usual apple.

A giraffe has only seven bones in its long neck. We have the same number of bones.

Step3 Presentation

1.Talk about fun facts in Part A

Show the first picture of Part A, talk to them like this:

T: What can you see in the picture?

S: The Sun and the Earth.

T: Which one is larger, the Sun or the Earth?

S: The Sun. The Sun is about 1, 300, 000 times larger than the Earth.

T: Why does the Sun look smaller than the Earth?

S: Because the Sun is far away from us.

2.Take turns to show the other three pictures.

3. Focus on some new words and emphasize on some of them.

Step4 Practice

1. Part A, Page57

1) Guide Ss to match and fill in blanks.

2) Ask Ss to read the sentences freely.

2. Part B, Page57

Play the tape about Part B and say to Ss: Kitty and Amy are talking about the fun facts in Part A. Listen to their conversation and tell me which pictures they’re talking about and what they think of the facts.
