IV.Teaching procedures

Step1. Presentation

1. Watch a video and think about the following questions.

(1)What does Hobo think it is?

(2)What does Eddie think it is?

(3)Where do the bright lights come from?

[Purpose: create the atmosphere of learning English and lead out the topic of the lesson: amazing things.]

2. Listen again and answer the questions.

(1)What does Hobo think it is?

Hobo thinks it is a plane.

(2)What does Eddie think it is?

Eddie thinks it is a UFO.

(3)Where do the bright lights come from?

They’re the lights on the plane.

[Purpose: understand the dialogue of Comic strip and lead out the topic of the lesson: amazing things.]

3. Explain the meaning of ‘come on’ and work in pairs to role play the dialogue.

4. Invite some pairs to act out the dialogue.

[Purpose: active the atmosphere of learning English and help remember the dialogue of Comic strip.]

Step2. Lead-in and presentation

Present the picture and lead out the word ‘UFO’ (Unidentified Flying Object)

[Purpose: lead out the topic of the lesson: amazing things.]

Present the related pictures and lead out fun facts of Part A.
