Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead-in

Show a picture of Doraemon, tell students he has some amazing things. Learn the

new word “amazing” and the phrase “amazing things”.

Watch a video of Doraemon, learn about what amazing things Doraemon has.

Show some amazing things Doraemon has, tell students Doraemon comes from the

future ---the 22nd century, he took Time Machine to the earth, he also finds some fun facts on the earth, let’s see what amazing things he finds. Learn the new words and the phrase: earth, fact, fun facts, lead in the new lesson.

Step 2 Presentation

Show a picture of the sun and the earth, let students compare the sun to the earth, which one is bigger? Tell students the sun looks smaller, but the sun is about 1,3000,000 times larger than the earth. Pay attention to “1,3000,000 times larger than...”.

Step 4 A guessing game

Play a guessing game, describe some animals, ask students to guess their names, then learn about fun facts about these animals.

Step 5 Presentation and practice

Sum up some amazing things we have learned in this lesson, the teacher talks about some fun facts about the animals in the guessing game or some amazing things in Part A with some students, use the conversation in Part B as a model.
