Warm-up. Greeting.
Step 1. Lead-in
a. Teacher shows a picture of sea world, and asks students “How do you feel when you see such a picture?”
b.Teacher tells students “The world is full of amazing things.” and writes down “amazing” on the blackboard.
c. Teacher shows pictures of the sun and the earth, and asks “What can you see in the picture, which one is lager, the sun or the earth?”
Step 2. Learning new words
a.Teacher requires students to find the new words “same, birth, bones,fat...” in Part A.
b. Teacher teaches the new words.
Step 3. Part A
Teacher leads students to finish Part A.
a. Teacher divides the whole class into 4 groups, and asks one of each group student come to the blackboard to match the with the sentences. .
b. Teacher and students read the sentences.
c. Teacher asks students to fill in a blank of Part A.
Step 4. Part B
a. Teacher asks “ Now you have leanrt some amazing things. How do you feel?” Then writes downs the words “amazing, cool, funny, wonderful, interesting.”
b. Teacher asks students to read Part B, and asks the questions“Which pictures are they talking about and what do they think of the facts?”
Step 5. Make a conversation
Teacher asks some students to answer the questions “Do you remember any fun facts about elephants? Isn’t that that amazing?” Then requires this students to ask another student with the sentences “Do you remember any fun facts about...?”
Step 6. Language points
a.Teacher asks students to find the sentences “The Sun is about 1,300,000 times larger than the Earth.” “Fish sleep with their eyes open.”
b. Teacher requires students to take notes and do some exercise.
Step 7. Conclusion
a. Teacher plays a short video, and tellls students that the world is full of amazing things, we should discover the world.
Step 8. Homework
a. Recite the sentences.
b. Find some fun facts ahout “ants, camels, snakes”.
Students look at the pictures and answer the question.
