A Talking about animals
Step 1 Lead-in
1. T asks Ss: “Do you love animals?”，then present the video of animals and ask the questions；
(1) What animals can you see in the video?
(2)Do you like dogs? What animals do you like? Why?
(3) Are you afraid of …? What animals are you afraid of? Why?
2. Play a guessing game
T: Boys and girls, how much you know about animals? let’s play a guessing game. Please listen to me carefully, and guess what animal it is.
P1: They are quite tall. They eat the leaves on the trees. They have the longest necks. There are only a few bones in their necks. What are they?
P2: It lives on the ground, in trees or in water .It sleeps in winter .It has no feet. Most of us are afraid of it. What is it?
P3: They live in dry (干燥的) places. They can store (存储)food and water in their bodies. We call them the ship of the desert. (沙漠) What are they?
P4: They are smart. They are very small but they can carry heavy things. They are very hard-working. They move their houses before it rains. What are they?

1. Listening
T: Mr. Wu and Suzy are also talking about animals. What animals are they talking about?
T: Listen again. Put the pictures in the correct order. Write the numbers 1-4 in the boxes.
2. Revision
T: We learned some fun facts about elephants and goldfish. Do you still remember them? What funny things do you know about elephants? There are no bones in the back of elephants’ feet—only fat. Fish sleep with their eyes open. Do you know anything amazing about goldfish?
3. More fun facts about animals
T: Look at the frog. It is very small, right? Poison dart frogs（箭毒蛙） are very small, sometimes less than 1.5 centimeters long. Horses sleep standing up. Butterflies taste nectar (花蜜)with their feet.
