教学过程:

Step 1. Lead-in

1. T: Do you like animals? How many animals are there in this picture?

S: ……

T: Do you know anything amazing about these animals?

S: Fish sleep with their eyes open.

There are no bones in the back of elephants’ feet---only fat.

A tortoise can live up to 150 years old.

【设计意图】用一幅黑白图片向学生展示不同的动物,由于动物是重叠在一起的,学生需要仔细观察才能找全所有的动物,学生对此表现出极大的兴趣,课堂气氛一下子就活跃了起来,向学生展现的动物有前文已经出现过的鱼和大象,正好借此复习了学生已经知道的有关动物的奇异现象。这一活动,既调动了学生学习的兴趣,又复习了前面所学的内容。为下面做了很好的铺垫。

Step 2. Presentation

1. T: Today, we’ll learn more about the amazing animals. It is very long. It eats little or nothing in winter. It lives on the ground , in trees or in winter.(呈现:snake, little)Are you afraid of snakes?(呈现be afraid of)

T: It lives in very dry places. If there is no water, it can still live for a long time. / It can live without water for a long time.(呈现:dry, without, camel)

T: It is small. It has six legs. It likes sweet things. It can carry heavy things with his friends.

(呈现:ant)

T: How many ants here?

S: One.

T: Yes, there is an ant here.(强调an ant 的用法)

【设计意图】在呈现新内容的时候用了猜谜的游戏,通过白板教学,学生一边猜,一边擦,最后展现图片,学生很好奇,掌握起来很轻松。

2. T: Mr Wu is showing Suzy some pictures of animals. Listen to their conversation and put the pictures in the correct order. Write the number 1---4 in the boxes. ( listen and write)

3. T: Suzy is afraid of animals. Mr Wu wants to help her. He is telling her some interesting things about animals. Listen to their conversation and help Suzy complete her notes.

Tip1: 在做听力前,快速浏览所给的听力材料,猜测可能出现的答案。(可以先推测3的答案)然后根据信息,可以推测一下(1)可能跟数字有关,(2)可能跟时间有关,(4)可能跟动作有关。

Tip2:再做听力时,学会通过预测听关键词。

【设计意图】第一部分,按所听内容给图片编号,这一部分比较简单,学生只要仔细听都能正确地写出顺序。第二部分,需要对这些动物做具体的描述,在做听力前,给学生一点的听力指导,比如,第3个空,根据常识学生都能猜出是water,其他各空在听之前可以带着学生进行预测,有了一定的铺垫,学生听起来就比较好理解,容易提高正确率。
