Step 1 Lead-in

1. Play a guessing game.

Boys and girls, let’s play a guessing game.

Please listen to me carefully, and guess what animal it is.

P1: Which animal has the longest nose?

P2:Which animal has the longest neck?

P3:Which animal has a bad memory?

P4:Which animal lives only in China?

P5:Which animal can live for more than one hundred years?

2. Revision.

We know some fun facts about elephants and fish. Do you still remember them? There are no bones in the back of elephants’ feet—only fat. Fish sleep with their eyes open.

3.Show students some amazing facts about camel,ant,giraffe,snake.

Step 2 Presentation

1. Listening.

Mr Wu is showing Suzy some pictures of animals.

Listen to their conversation and answer the question:

How many animals are they talking about? And what are they?

Listen again. Put the pictures in the correct order. Write the numbers 1-4 in the boxes.

2.Discussion.

Should we be afraid of all animals ?---Animals are our friends.

3. Listening.

(1) Listen and answer.

Suzy is afraid of animals. Mr Wu wants to help her. He is telling her some interesting things about animals. Listen to their conversation and answer some questions.

(2) Listen and complete the sentences.

Please listen again and help Suzy complete her notes.

Step 3 Practice

1.Please listen to the tape again .Write a T if a sentence is true or an F if it is false .

2. Finish a thank-you letter.

Suzy is not afraid of animals now. She is writing a thank-you letter to Mr Wu.
