A. Using as … as

Step 1 Lead-in

Show the pictures of Natural beauty.

T: Picture one is beautifu. Picture two is beautiful, too. So we can say, picture one is _____ picture two. (Picture one is as beautiful as picture two.) The green bag is expensive. The purple bag is ____ the green bag. The white bag is cheaper than the green bag. The white bag is ____ the green one. (The purple bag is as expensive as the green bag. The white bag is not as expensive as the green one.)

T: Look at the pictures, Wang Baoqiang lauges as ____ as the dog. The plane runs more quickly than the train. The train doesn’t run as _____ as the plane. (Wang Baoqiang lauges as happily as the dog. The train doesn’t run as quickly as the plane.)

【设计意图】通过本单元话题呈现两张图片的对比,在讨论过程中导入本课学习目标。让学生从之前所学习的比较级入手,通过对比,使其从语法上的知道了解,到语言上的感知体会。

Step 2 Presentation

1. Show the pictures of the Canghai Lake and the pictures of the Meigui Lake and complete the sentences. Show the pictures of Peter and the pictures of Lily and complete the sentences.

2. Show all the sentences mentioned above. Let students find out the rules and conclude the using of “as...as” in “be” style and “V” style.

3. Conclude the usage of “as … as” and “not so … as” .

1.Translation.

(1) According to the meaning, put all the words in correct order.

(2) Put the assertive sentences into negative sentences.

2.Exercises in books of page 35.

Complete the sentences with “as...as” or “not as...as”.

3.Competetion

Group boys VS Group girls, give sentences with “as...as” or “not as...as” as many as possible.
