The third point is three dimensional teaching aims.

Knowledge aims:

1.To learn names of different types of books.

2.To learn about people’s different needs on books.

Ability aims:

1.To understand and act out the comic strip..

2.To train students’ integrated skills.

Moral aims:

1To encourage students to form good habits of reading.

2Lead students to respect knowledge,protect and love books.Besides, through group activity, students cooperate with each other, communicate with each other to develop their team spirit.

The fourth point is teaching important points and difficulties.

To be familiar with different types of books,to remember related words,phrases, sentence patterns.

.In the teaching, I’ll use situational method and task-based method.

In terms of my teaching aids, I’ll use multi-media, tape recorder a blackboard.

The most important part of my presentation is teaching procedures.

Step 1 Lead-in

In the beginning, it is a free talk.Question 1 Do you like reading books? Question2 What kind of books do you like best? These two questions above is easy to answer,my purpose is to make the teaching atmosphere active,everybody can express freely.With the help of the two questions, I can lead in my new lesson naturally.

Step 2 presentation

I will present some types of books on the screen, encourage students to read the names of the books above ,and tell the content of these different types of books. Through this period , students should distingish different types of books, some vivid introductions and explanations are necessary.

Step 3 practice

Show a picture of my family , with the help of introductions above and according to their common sense , students can judge different likes of books about my family members. It is a natural consolidation of the names of different types of books.

Step 4 Pair work listen to the tape, then work in pairs ,use Sandy and Daniel’s conversation as a model to talk about what they like to read in the spare time. During this process , I will explain some new words and expressions for them.

Step 5 Group work Divide students into eight groups to talk aout the advantages of reading. Give them 5minutes to discuss and write down their plan on the paper. After discussion and cooperation, choose the representatives of the groups to report their writing plans and talks in front of the class.. At last we will work out which group is the winner.

Step 6 Although reading can make our lives better , ask students what the should do with books , Students are required to learn about dos and don’ts when reading.

Dos: keep books clean and tidy keep queit return books on time

Don’ts unfold books make books in a mess be noisy

Getting students to think about what they should do when reading, And it will make it easier for me to lead students to the next part.

Step 7 Listening and Practice

I will play the tape of comic strip for students to listen with their books shut

(Here, we will learn a short dialogue between Hobo and Eddie. The exercise can develop students’ listening skills and students can get a general idea about it.)
