Pre-reading:

Task1. Sing “Happy birthday” song

1. T: At first, I want to give you a surprise. Look at the screen. (出示PPt生日动画)Can you sing?

Let’s sing all together.

2. Sing this song with the Ss.

Task2. Talk about birthday freely

1. Lead in:

T: Everyone has a birthday. My birthday is on Nov. 16th. On my birthday, I usually eat noodles and eggs for breakfast. Mom cooks a dinner for me. I usually get some gifts from my family, like a birthday card from my daughter, some new clothes from my sister. So I am very happy. I want to know, when is your birthday? And what do you do or eat on your birthday?

2. Ss think about them and then call out some of them to talk about them. (教材2a)

Task 3. Guess and learn the key words in the context

T: Different people have different birthday food. In fact, people around the world have different eating habits.

1. 呈现a map of the world, 学习world, the UK

2. 通过中西方不同的饮食习惯,呈现ppt, 学习different, 复习与学习:hamburgers, salad, pizza, rice, noodles, porridge, beef, dumplings.
