Greetings.(打招呼)

Chant.(PPT出示chant内容,学生跟着老师加上动作快乐地进行热身活动)

Leading in(导入)

Listen to the crying of some animals and try to guess which animal it is. We should pay attention to the new words: horse, sheep. And I will divide the students into two groups: the sheep team and the horse team.(听不同动物发出的声音,猜一猜都是哪些动物。这个过程中引入there is a …句型。)

Make a chant by imitating the crying of the animal. Here is the example: There is a cat, meow, meow, meow. There is a bird, tweet, tweet, tweet….(把新句型和动物的叫声用chant的形式表现出来)

Introduce the use of “there is”by pointing different things. Here are the examples: There is a window. There is a door. There is a desk. There is a chair. There is a boy.(介绍there is 的用法,表示某地有某物或某人,可以用来描述照片或者场景。比如教室里有窗户,天空中有小鸟,学校里有学生。在教室里举出各种例子,让学生更清楚there is的用法.)

Teaching steps

Activity One: listen and chant.

Show the picture on the book, and let the students to describe it by using ”there is”.(学生用there is来描述图片)

Watch the flash, and feel the rhythm of the chant.(看动画,感受歌曲韵律)

Listen again, try to read by themselves.(再听,尝试跟读)

Ask some students to read Activity One.(请生汇报)

Show a picture, and ask the students to make a new chant.(展示图片,让学生来创造新的曲子。)

Activity Two: listen, point and find “There is…”

Watch the flash, and answer the next two questions.

How many photos are they talking about?

What animal in photo 1/2/3/4? What is it doing?

Show the four photos one by one, and ask the students the questions:

T: What’s in this photo?

Ss: There is a horse.

T: What is the horse doing?

Ss: It’s running fast.

(出示每张图片,让学生描述图片内容。这个过程可以让学生很快掌握到本课核心句式和重难点。)

Read the content I write on the blackboard.(读老师归纳到黑板上的重点句子)

Watch the flash again. (再看动画,加深印象。这个过程中注意新单词face)

Ask three students to read the passage in roles.(请三名学生分角色朗读课文)

Ask all the students to read the whole text.

Playing a game: guess and say

Show a picture that is covered by a circle, let the students guess what is in the picture by using the next structure: There is __________ in this photo. It’s/ he’s / she’s ____________.(通过游戏让学生来猜图片的内容,猜到之后请学生用英语来描述。图片和学生本人息息相关,可以调动学生的热情。)
