Step 1: warming-up

Sing the song “Fruit Song”

Step 2.Presentation

Activity1: ask Ss to take out fruits from the magic box, and ask Ss “What is this?” They will answer “It’s a/an… …”.in order to review the knowledge they learned before.

Then, we will play the guessing game, for example, It’s brown, It looks like a kiwi fruit, It’s a kind of vegetable. What’s this? Thus the new words “potato and tomato” will be introduced.

Next, I will show the potato and tomato picture and ask Ss “What’ s this in English”, Ss will use the new words to say It’s a … …”, thus the new sentence structure will be introduced.

Activity 2: let Ss listen to the tape and read after it, they will asked to pay attention to the pronunciation carefully and find the words they don’t know.

Step3.Practice

In this step, We will play chain game in order to practice the new word and sentences. Then ask Ss imitate the dialogue. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation. In this step the Ss are required to practice the dialogue in groups by reading aloud.

Step4.Production

Ask the Ss to make a dialogue according to the text and act it out with partners. Then find out which group will act it out well.

Step 5: Summary

Ask Ss to sum up we have learned today, and I will make an assessment.

Step 6: Homework

Let Ss make a dialogue by themselves according to the text, and write it on the exercise book.
