This is book 6,published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. I am going to talk about the vocabulary and reading part of module 3: childhood friends. According to the New Standard, class should be students-oriented, and we teachers should encourage and inspire students to involve in the class. Teachers should use all kinds of activities to interest students, developing their initiative and creativity,thus achieve the teaching aims of the class.

The students are in senior 2. They are familiar with the topic-childhood friendship. But since the students’ basic knowledge of English is not so good, and even some are losing interest in English, so I should use activities to inspire them.

Teaching aims:

1.Enable students know the main idea of this passage and its structure;

2.Let students have a good understanding of this passage, including some specific information, important words,phrases and sentences;

3.Students can share their ideas about friendship and value their own friendship.

Teaching important and difficult points:

Let students master some specific information of this passage and some important words, phrases and sentences.

Important words: solute,dig,tear,scratch,swell,heel,scold,stream

Important phrases: be ashamed of;forgive somebody for something;back in touch with somebody;be nostalgic for;be on good terms with; be blessed with; go away; grow up;be allergic to

Important sentence: It’s a privilege to call him my friend.

Teaching approaches:

fast reading; careful reading; play a game; discussion; competition

Teaching aids:

Computer,cellphone, blackboard;some envelops;a laser pen
