Situation and some skills to memorize the words.

②Ability goals:Help students learn to use the vocabulary in a real situation

by making up stories.

③Emotion goals:1).Arouse students’interest in learning English language.

2)Develop students’ ability of co-operation

Design concept:With the daily increase of English vocabulary in students’ English learning,many students find it more and more difficult to memorize so many English words.As a result of that,some students lose interest in learning English and even want to give it up. In order to arouse students’ interest and improve their efficiency in English learning,I design the lesson by creating 3 situations which are related to each other and while students learning the words ,they can also learn to use them in a real imaginary situation. Meanwhile,students can also learn two learning skills:Chunk memory and Associative memory.

Important and difficult points:

Help students learn to make up stories by using the vocabulary in a real situation .

Teaching methods:Task-based teaching approach Communicative Approach(交际教学法)“scene — activity” teaching method

Teaching tools:CAI A Computer

Teaching procedure:

Step One: Pre-class warm-up:

1.Play a piece of music “Auld Lang Syne” for students to listen and sing together.(Purpose:To create a relaxing atmosphere for students so that they can participant in the class quickly)

Step Two:Lead-in

2.Free Talk: Teacher ask students questions about the song and English language ,then ask:“What do you find is difficult while learning English? ” ,collect students’ possible answers and lead in :Today I’m going to solve one of the problems-----vocabulary.

Step Three:Presentation

1.Present the lyrics of the song “Auld Lang Syne” and let students read and pay attention to the words underlined “acquaintance,bring to mind,auld lang syne”

2.Teacher ask:“What topic does the song talk about?” and lead in---friendship--interpersonal relationship

(Purpose:To stimulate students’ interest by using the English song and free talk so as to make a natural process of teaching.)

Step Four:Vocabulary Learning (Group Work)

1.Let students learn the words in situation1 and talk about:

“What qualities do they want their friends to have?”and “What qualities do they don’t like their friends to have?”
