a. To make students know how to read a newspaper effectively.

b. To practice matching the headlines with the articles.

c. To practice reading the first paragraph to get the main idea.

d. To practice collecting specific information.

过程和方法:

show some pieces of newspaper

group work –discussion and make comments

group evaluation and individual evaluation

情感态度和价值观:

The Ss read the articles in the newspaper to enjoy reading.

To develop the Ss’ ability of making comments.

To improve the Ss’ interest in reading.

d. The Ss learn to find out their strengths and shortcomings by themselves.

学习者特征分析

一般特征:Students are concerned about how to read newspaper effectively, which makes them feel a little depressed. According to the situation, I decided to have a reading class about reading newspaper. Perhaps it will make students a little relaxed and make them more confident on reading than before.

初始能力:Nearly half of the term has passed, and the students have almost been adapted to the English learning in Senior High School. However, they still feel pessimistic about English; they think it difficult to learn English well.

信息素养:The students have the ability to search some information on the internet including the news on the Internet and so on, in addition,they are familiar with the use of Microsoft Office Word.
