Teaching procedure

Step 1: Lead-in

1 Enjoy a chant for two times , anwser the questions”What presents has the boy got ? Who sent the presents to the boy ? ” Then say the chant .

2 Daming is happy_ show the picture of Daming and his grandma.They are talking on the phone. It’s an international call . What are they talking on the phone ? Ask students to answer the question “What are they talking ? They are talking about the presents. Check the answer ‘presents’ watch theCD-Rom .

Step 2 Presentation and practice.

a. Then ask students to read the dialogue and find out “What presents did Grandma send to Daming ? Teach the new word’ American”

b. Read the dialogue again . Then find out “What are Grandma’s questions about the presents ? How did Daming answer ?” Write the sentences on the blackboard. Ask students to read Grandma’s questions and the answers of Daming. Explain the usage of “it them” . Explain the meaning of “some of it ” . Pay attention the pronunciation of “read” Teach the new words “read insteresting ” At last ask students to read the sentences on the blackboard again.

C Listen to the dialogue and imatate it . Then ask the students to act out.

3 Ask stuents a question “Daming, it”s Grandma.” Can I say “Daming ,I’m Grandma ” Teach students how to introduce themselves on the phone. Then act it out .

Step 3 Consolidation and extension

4 Sum up the usage of “it them ”, then say the pictures . For example” I’ve got some books . I read them last week” Then ask students to practise.

5 Read in pairs . Complete three dialogues.

6 Look at Grandma’s presents.Ask students to talk about “Why did Grandma send Daming these presents? If you were Daming ,maybe you sent Grandma some presents too.What did you send to Grandma?

7.Let’s phone Grandma .ACT the dialogue .

Step 4 Summary

Home work:

1 Listen and imitate the dialogue for three times. Be able to read it fluently.

2 Activity Book P15 3 ,4

3 Try to write down the new dialogue that you acted it out in class .
