【教学步骤】

Step1.Lead in

T: Good afternoon, boys and girls

Ss: Good afternoon, Ms. Chang.

T: I have a question for you. Do you like to play sports?

Ss: Yes/No.

T: What kind of sports do you like to play?

Ss: basketball, Ping-Pong, basketball, running……

T:Speak of running; I have a picture for you. Do you know the four boys? What are they doing? Why are they smiling?

Ss: They won!

T: They represent class 4 to compete against other players. They not only won the first place but also broke our school record in the last school sport meeting. They are good athletes. All the great athletes in the world want to take part in a very big sports meet. It is the Olympic Games! Look at the picture. Do you know where it is? Do you think it is important in our history? Why? Look at this building. Tell me where it is? Why we built it? Today we will talk about both ancient and modern Olympic Games. Do you know how often do the Olympics take place?

[设计意图]:利用学生热爱运动这一爱好,从询问校运会开始,自然地进入谈论奥运会的新话题。

Step Ⅱ. Listening & Reading

Listen to the text and pay attention the pronunciation and intonation.

Listen to the text again and read after it. Try to read it correctly with right intonation.

Read the text aloud and pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

[设计意图] 通过不同的方式让课文复现,加深学生对课文的了解,在听后朗读也有助于学生学习正确的语音、语调。

Step Ⅲ. Group Work

Work in groups and tell us what know about the Olympic Games.

[设计意图]借助小组合作的方式讨论奥运会相关知识,可以检验学生学习效果也有效提高教学效率。

Step IV. Homework

Write a short passage about the Olympic Games with what have learnt in class.
