Step 1 Lead-in

1. Look at the learning aims of this class.(以思维导图的形式呈现)

2.Free talk (open questions).

Look and say (show students some pictures of famous people)

(1) Who is he/she? (YaoMing LiuXiang ZhouJielun….)

(2) What can he /she do ?(Learn:be able to )

(3) What is his/her ability? (…..is his/her ability.)

【设计意图:对学生熟悉的人物进行询问,迅速进入本节课的话题。】

3. Ask and answer

A: What can he do ? B: He can….

A: What is his ability? B: His ability is …. ing.

4. Different people have different abilities.

(1) What ability do the monkeys have?

(2)How about the birds? They have the ability to fly.

(3) What about us? Can we fly?

【设计意图:通过图片教学,引出单词ability,鼓励学生反复操练have the ability to do sth.,也为引出Comic strip的内容做好了铺垫。】

1. Think and say

(1)Who can fly in the world? Superman can fly in the world

T: Do you believe /b??li?v/dogs have the ability to fly? What about Eddie? Do you believe he can fly like Superman? OK, let’s learn comic strip.

2. Watch and judge

T:Watch the cartoon and judge the following sentences. Read the questions together first.

(1) Eddie is Super dog.
