Teaching procedures:

Step 1 : Greeting and leading--in

At first, teacher introduces a club to the students, then tell them that this club is in their classroom and their classmates who are talented and helpful are the members, the club called “Project Hope” is to help unable people, such as the old and children. Let the teacher introduce the members one by one. Then lead in the students’ talents. Show them how to use “can”and “ability”.

Step 2 : Free talk

Let students discuss how to use their abilities to help others , and talk about what the menbers are doing in pictures,then finish the tasks on Page 81. Next, show some pictures about children in poor areas, tell students how poor they are. E.g. their parents can’t afford tuition or clothes, so sometimes they have to stay at home. Let them think of the way to solve the problem.Talking makes them know more about the truth that “don’t be shy to show your loves and help to others , if you do, the world will become more and more beautiful”.

Step 3: Watch a video

Parents bring them up , some day , they will become older, instead, we should look after them carefully as they did. How do we take care of them? After watching a video, talk about the methods. In your daily life, don’t be shy to show your loves to your parents.

Step 4: act out

Show a picture of superman to the students, ask students “do you think if the superman can fly “. and “can dogs fly”.Hobo likes superman, he wants to fly just like superman, Let’s see the conversation between Hobo and Eddie. Then ,choose some students to act it out without books.

Step 5: summary

Tell students that we should show our loves to others, help others in trouble, help ourselves.

Step 6: homework

1.According to the dialogues on Page 81, make up your own dialogues.

2.Finish the notebook on Page105.
