Teaching procedure:

Step 1. Presentation 5 min

1. Play a short video about a superman and ask:

who is he? Can he fly? He can do anything to help people in need,do you think so?etc.

2. Have a free talk.What can you do in daily life ? Do you often help others?

(description of design:Use a vidio to arouse the interest of learning)

Step 2. Listening 10min

1.Present the pictures and learn new words.

2.Ask them to listen to Eddie and Hobo’s conversation and answer the questions.

1). What does Eddie want to be? 2). What does Eddie want to do?

3). What does Hobo say when Eddie wants to fly? 4). Can Eddie fly? And is he Superdog?

3, Read the dialogue and try to act it out in pairs.

(description of design:As a seventh grade student, we should give them en ough time to practice reading English and give them more chances to act out the dialogue.)

Step 3 Practising 5min

practise in pairs: A:What’s your ability? B:I can….what about you? A:I can…

(description of design: Encourage students to practice spoken English.)

Step 4 Speaking 5min

1,Look at the pictures and say something about them.

2, Complete A and check the answers

3,play a game :stand up quickly to describe pictures.

(description of design: Practice speaking skills.Encourage students to speak more. Collect the abilities they have got and discuss them.)

Step 5 Discussion 10min

1. Play the recording of Part B. Enable them to understand it with the questions:who’ll they help?

What will they do for the children?

2. Ask students to finish exerises by discussing in groups.

(description of design: Understand the dialogue by listening.)

Step 6 Summary 5min

1, Consolidate the knowledge they have learnt.

2,Collect the abilities they have got as many as possible and discuss them: what can we do for others?
