Ask Ss to tell what animals they’ve heard and write them on the blackboard.

Step 2 Presentation and practice.

1)Play the video for Listen and Say, and ask ss what animals Miss Fang and Children are talking about and how the animals are. Write the phrase “in danger” beside the animals to elicit today’s topic.

2) Present photos of pandas ,South China Tigers and blue whales. Ask ss to talk about them according to their knowledge.

S1: Blue whales live in the ocean.

S2: There aren’t many pandas now.

2)Present a chart showing the datas about these three animals and elicit the patterns

There were… There are…

3) Play the recording for Listen and Say again ,Write the new words: hundred and thousand on the blackboard, Explain the meaning of with the help of pictures in look and learn.

4) Complete the exercise on page 31.

Check the answers together.

5) Encourage ss to try to retell the chart according to the chart.

Step 3 Consolidation.

1.Do a survey.

Ask ss to do a survey on page 34 in groups of four. They can search the information on the Internet. Then fill the data they’ve got in the chart.

2. Give a report

Encourage ss to give a report according to their survey.

Step 4 Moral education
