Step 1 Pre-writing

1. Greetings.

2. Free talk.

T: Today we go on learning Unit3 Holiday Fun

Before class, we enjoyed some pictures of holiday activities. Do you like holidays?

What’s your favourite holiday? Why?

T: I know your favourite holidays. What about mine? Please try to guess.

(The teacher tells the students the reason too.)

Step 2 While-writing

1. (1) T: This summer holiday , I had a wonderful time. Do you want to know more about it? Please be reporters Try to ask me about my summer holiday this year..

(Encourage students to interview the teacher, the teacher gives them the answers and writes some key words on the blackboard.)

(2) T: Oh, what good reporters! Now you know my summer holiday. What about yours? Please take out your work sheet. Try to complete your holiday mind map. Three minutes go.

(Ask the students to say something about their holiday according to their mind maps by themselves and then show in the front of the classroom.)

2. (1) Read the passage about the teacher’s summer holiday and try to guess the ending.

(2) T: What do you think of my passage?

(Follow the students’ answers, the teacher leads them to summarize.)

①Devide the passage into parts. (What does the teacher write in each part?)

Now the passage is clear.

②These useful words( but, and, so, because, first, next, then, finally and so on) make the passage coherent.

③Feelings can make the passage rich.

3. T: Now, it’s your turn. Take out your work sheet again and write about your holiday.

(1) Write and read by themselves.(For about five minutes.)

(2) Invite someone to show and the other students make appraise.

T: What do you think of his/her passage?/ Do you have any suggestions?

Step 3 Post-writing

1. What do you learn from this class?

(1) What to write?

(2) How to write better?

(Make a summary with the help of the blackboard-writing.)

2. Enjoy a holiday album made by the teacher.
