Teaching aims and learning objectives:
By the end of the lesson, the students would be able to:
1. understand the story as a whole and know the origins of the beggar’s chicken;
2. know the meaning of “build(built) a fire, dig(dug) up, hide(hid)it under the fire” and pronounce them clearly;
3. know the meaning and spelling of “beggar, forest, field” and pronounce them clearly;
4. use structures “Can I…? No, you can’t. No one can…”correctly;
5. read new stories by using the methods they’ve learned today and become interested in the culture about Chinese dishes；
6. get the methods of reading stories.
