Read aloud and pair-work

Teaching Procedures:

Step1: Lead-in

Greetings

Have a free talk. Do you like fairy stories? Which fairy story do you like best?

Present the picture of Alice in Wonderland.

Step2: Pre-reading

Present the picture about a rabbit is jumping down the hole and ask students what will happen next.

Step3:While-reading

Task1:skim the text, go through the title, the first or last paragraph and choose multiple choice “what is the story about?”

Task2:scanning:find out the right order of each picture and put them in the right order.

Task3:close reading: read the text scenes carefully for more details and play a game to understand the text fully.

Test1:Who did the thing?

Test2:Find the differences.

Test3: Find the problems for Alice.

Task4:Enjoy the story and find the beauty of the story from phonology,words,expressions and imagery. .

Step4:Post-reading

1.Group work: to be a good writer.If you were the writer, what do you think would happen to Alice?

2.Conclusion: what do you think of Alice and what we can from her.

Step 5: Homework

1.Finish off some exercise.

2.Search for more information about “Alice in Wonderland”on the Internet

3.See the 3-D film produced by Walt Disney.
