1.T: Show some pictures to the students and ask them the names of them.

2.T: Do you like reading fairy tales?

What do you think of fairy tales ?

T: I think they are usually very interesting and they are full of imagination . So when we are reading fairy tales ,we should try to use our imagination. Today we are going to learn about a fairy tale called: Alice in wonderland”.

Step3. Before-reading

1.Ask the students to watch a video about “Alice in Wonderland”.

2.Ask the students to talk about two questions according to the title.

(Title : Down the rabbit hole)

1) What can we learn from the title? (T/Ss )

2) What do you want to know?

Ask the students to have a prediction according to the title. (in groups)

Step4: While-reading

1.Ask the students to read and answer four questions. (in pairs)

Questions: 1. When did the story happen?

2. Where did the story happen?

3. Who jumped down the hole?

4. What happened to Alice at the end of the story?

2. Ask the students to divide the story into two parts. (in groups)

3. Read Para1 and ask and answer two questions. (individual –in pairs)

Questions: 1. Who sat by the river?

2. What happened to Alice?

4.Show a picture of a rabbit to the students and ask:

Is there anything special about the rabbit? (Individual)

5. Ask the students to read Para2 and find out what was special about the rabbit. Then check their answers. (1-2-3) Ask the students to guess: What will the rabbit be late for? (Individual)

6. T: What did Alice think of the rabbit? ( Read Para3)

S1: She thought it was an amazing rabbit.

T: How do you know that?

S1: Because she said: How amazing!

T: Would you like to read it with emotion(情感) to show your surprise(惊讶)? S1-S2-S3…
